Hi, Michael,
As a physician, personal trainer, and fitness competitor, I’ve always been a big fan of Oxygen Magazine and its effort to highlight the strength of women through its educational content. I thought the recent article “5 Yoga Poses to Cure Your Hangover” was such an entertaining read. I enjoyed trying out the poses without having to leave my bed (and I didn’t even have a hangover). I love it when training information is presented for real-life relatable situations like this.
That’s why I am looking forward to your upcoming bodyweight training and functional issue. As a complement to this print issue, I have a story idea for your digital edition. “The Perfect Ab Workout For The Multi-Tasking Woman” will show your readers how to multi-task their abdominal workout. Each of the exercises are specifically designed to work synergistically so that multiple purposes are served in the least amount of time. The workout can reduce pain, improve posture, build strength, and optimally develop the sought-after 6-pack.
A key distinction of these exercises is that they are all performed in a standing position. This upright position is an essential element of the workout because our core is in this position generally for most activities of our day. I see significant evidence for the need to address this in my rehabilitation medical practice. The vast majority of back injuries I treat in my office are sustained in bending, reaching, or twisting activities performed while upright. However, the most popular ab exercises like crunches and planks involve the body being in a horizontal position.
As a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, and a fitness athlete with 20 years of competition experience, I am uniquely qualified to expertly share credible training advice. I’d be happy to send you a detailed outline for the article, or additional story ideas. You can find out more about me on my website www.DoctorVenus.com.

Hi, Lindsay,
I was just reading a few of your articles on PureWow.com and I have to let you know how much I enjoyed your piece “7 Foolproof Ways to Beat Your Caffeine Addiction.” As a java-lover, I’ve found myself having to wean off of coffee a few times every year, so I was excited to see a few tips I haven’t tried yet.
I have an article suggestion for your Wellness section. Motivation is always a key factor when it comes to making time for fitness in our busy lives. With National Lazy Day coming up on August 10th, I think it would be the perfect time to inspire those who consider themselves too lazy to work out. Often times when people use the excuse of being too lazy to exercise, they’re actually just feeling too busy. I suggest an article which reveals “The 10 Best Tips To Help Get You In Shape Even When You Feel Lazy.” I’ll present my favorite hacks to squeeze effective exercise into a busy schedule.
As a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, and a fitness athlete with 20 years of competition experience, I am uniquely qualified to share credible fitness advice in this area. Managing a bustling medical practice can present a daily time crunch, but I’ve discovered some very useful tips and tricks to incorporate exercise that I know your readers will love!
